About Our Ministry!
We have experienced the marvelous Grace and Mercy of Godthese last few years of ministry in Cambodia. And, it is friends likeyou, our partners in ministry that have made it possible.
As a short summary of this past term of service I would liketo give you some of the highlights. Upon returning to Battambang in thenorthwest of Cambodia in July 2003,we resumed the pastorate of the church we planted some three years before. Themissionary who had filled in for us then moved on to another place of ministry. We picked back up on the church planting efforts as well. I am excited toreport that the mother church now has 120+ in Sunday attendance and our churchplanting efforts have seen growth both in new churches and the development ofour church planting teams. We now have 7 churches and growing.
Our children's ministry is going great. We now sponsor 315public school children in a very poor rural village school. We have provided muchneeded medical attention, school supplies, and nutritional supplements. We aregreatly loved in the area and all the kids are learning about Jesus. Many ofthe children and their parents are hearing about Jesus for the first time. Also, two years ago, by the Holy Spirit, we launched a private Christianschool. This is such an exciting ministry for us. In the public school system, most hardly learn to read or basic math, many study no more than third grade. Only 2%ever graduate high school. We decided to do something about it. Our school willeventually go through 12th grade. This year we'll have 160 childrenfrom K – 4th grade. We are adding a new grade level each year. Whata delight to see children learn beyond parents wildest dreams! We are targetingpastor's and leader's kids and the poorest of the poor. Prayer, worship, andBible studies are a daily routine for the students of Salaa Hope Christian School. One pastor's daughter was to have been going into 5th grade lastyear but she still could not even read so he was so excited to get his daughterinto SHB, even though she had to drop back to 3rd grade. Now she isreading and doing well in all her subjects!
Lastly, we have been conducting medical mobile clinics inthe surrounding villages for the last few years. This has greatly enhanced thecause of Christ as we have shown the Love of Jesus in a very tangible way. Themedical care in Cambodiais very archaic at times and most unreasonable at others. Many people depend onsometimes fatal home remedies and others greatly abuse modern medicines, alsoto their detriment. We have had somevery competent and compassionate Doctors and friends come to help us in theseoutreaches. Since November 2004 we have hosted 8 teams and have seen on average1000 patients per visit. That's over 8,000 in a 15 month period. Our main focusis on children as we have examined all the children in our ministry areas. Manysalvations have occurred as a result of this wonderful and most neededministry.
Thank you friends for helping to make this happen. We lookforward to seeing you all. Please pray for our time here in the USA that it would go well visiting oursupporters, that our children will do well adjusting to school in America, and that we return quickly to the workin Cambodia. We love you and pray for you.
God bless,
Kelly and Cyndi Robinette

May 2008 Update:
As of January this year I have resumed a previous position of Director of the national Cambodia Bible Institute. We have been busy working on the budget, enlisting new students, and securing teachers to fill all the teaching spots.
Beginning June 1st we will also assume leadership of our AG orphanage which currently has 95 children. In addition, we will oversee the K-12 christian school which is attached to the orphanage.
Please pray that we manage and mentor the leaders in these ministries well.
